Schaffner, Knight, Minnaugh & Company participates in Relay for Life

September 3, 2009 | News and Events

Earlier this summer, the staff of Schaffner, Knight, Minnaugh & Company, P.C., participated in the Relay for Life at Fairview High School. As an event sponsor, the principals felt it was important to have a participatory presence at the event. Mike Tellers and Amy Denlinger chaired Schaffner, Knight, Minnaugh & Company’s Team Walka, Walka, Walka … for Life, which was named by Russ Chelton.

Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity that offers everyone an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camped out at Fairview High School and took turns walking or running around the track. “For our inaugural year, we had a pretty good turnout of walkers and in addition to our sponsorship dollars, the team raised over $1,000 for the American Cancer Society,” said Chuck Knight, managing principal.

Representing Team Walka, Walka, Walka…for Life were:

The Denlinger Family
The Eaglen Family
The Bonsell Family
Chuck and Renee Knight
Chris Hynes and his fiancée Stephanie
Dennis and Eileen Grow
Debbie Foister
Julie Lindvay and Family
Brenda Starr
Mike Tellers
Steve and Sue Ramsey
Erica Kensinger and Family
Dave and Theresa Herbe

“Relay for Life is more than just a fundraiser because you have a chance to meet people in the community who are equally as passionate about finding an end to cancer in our lifetime,” Knight added. “Members of the firm are already looking forward to the 2010 Relay for Life and building on our 2009 success.”
