Peter M. Eaglen, CPA, principal and director of Assurance Services, joined Schaffner, Knight, Minnaugh & Company, P.C. in 1998. On January 1, 2009, the firm promoted Pete to the position of firm principal.

Pete earned his B.A. degree in Accounting from Mercyhurst College graduating magna cum laude. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1995.

Prior to joining Schaffner, Knight, Minnaugh & Company, P.C., Pete acquired six years of experience with an international, "Big 4" accounting firm. He has been in charge of the firm's accounting and auditing quality control. Under his direction, the firm has received the highest marks possible during AICPA peer reviews.

In addition to being the accounting and auditing principal, Pete is the Director of Assurance Services (Audit and Accounting). He is responsible for product quality, resource management and the product delivery processes for Assurance Services.

Professionally, Pete is a member of the American Institute and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Internal Auditors. He is an associate member of the Certified Fraud Examiners, and he serves on the Executive Committee of the Erie Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Pete enjoys spending time with his family as well as running, biking, strength training, golf, and various other sports.
